I've Got Nothing...

I think that I should be looking at my life and wonder how it is possible that I have not posted on my blog since June of last year yet have nothing interesting to write. I am however going to write about something that I hate and disgusts me. I hate it when you are about to use a public restroom and you sit down and the seat is warm. Usually I think of warmth as relaxing and comforting, but in this scenario I find it very upsetting. It implies that the person who used the facilities before you sat long enough to get that seat good and warm, and that not enough time has passed for it to cool back down again--YUCK!

You might now ask yourself, am I really reading a blog post about toilet seats? The answer to that is definitively yes. Am I ashamed that this is all I have to write about right now? No! I think that it is a problem that needs to be addressed. OPERATION: NO MORE HOT SEATS! I will spend the next couple hours trying to see if I can come up with a better title for my campaign and may revisit this post later.

That Happy Child...

That's no happy child. I'm legitimately concerned that my baby has problems. You can be the judge.

1. He is far too large for the average child of his age.
2. His current favorite song is "When I Grow Up" by the Pussy Cat Dolls.
3. He does crawl-by bitings, in which if you leave a foot, arm, or any other body part dangling from the couch he will crawl by, bite you, then crawl away.
4. He hisses at people to show his displeasure...and it's not a cute hiss, it is venomous.
5. He spies on you. He'll pretend to be asleep when you enter his room, but the second you start doing something if you chance a glance at his crib you will find two little eyes peaking over the bumper at you and a very silent Isaac. I think he's gathering intel.
6. His favorite uncle appears to be the one overseas that knows how to use a machine gun, and whose favorite song is also "When I Grow Up" by the Pussy Cat Dolls. (you know who you are).

Good-Bye to Jack

As most of you already know we recently had to get rid of our beloved Jack. Big Ike was allergic to him, so we finally broke down and listed him on KSL. He went quickly, but I think we found him a great new home. The couple that took him seemed to good to be true! They are going to spoil Jack rotten!

Here are some of our favorite pictures and memories of Jack:

This is the picture Garrett sent me from the pet store when he first spotted Jack. Garrett
wanted him then and there, but had to wait until I could come
meet him. When went to the pet store the next day (the day after we closed on the the house) the puppy that had been staying in the cage with Jack had been sold. He looked so depressed that his little friend was gone so naturally we had to get him. When they let him out he ran around the corner so fast he completely fell down and tripped over himself. Then he peed all over the place. This is a trait that Jack continued for some time when he was excited!

Since we had just closed on our first house we were in the process of moving, so we took Jack with us when we went to Marci's house to finish deep cleaning the basement and get the rest of our stuff moved. He was such a coward! Everything scared him. So the entire time we cleaned and packed he hid in the cabinet. He was always scared of everything including but not limited to other animals, particularly ones smaller than him, doors that blow open, loud noises, and kennels.

Jack was such a good dog! He loved wearing clothes and really loved eating people food, especially pizza and cheese. He trained really easily and became part of the family. We loved him so much. We will miss Jack very much, but hope that he is very happy in his new home!

I Won't Say I'm In Love

Isaac does not like car rides, at all! Garrett and I have been trying a number of things to keep him from screaming his head off on car rides. I started singing to him and this seemed to do the trick. I relayed this information to Garrett so that he would no longer have to suffer the torture of a screaming child in the back seat. Last night Garrett told me he found his own trick, singing Disney songs to Isaac in the car. He came and downloaded their greatest hits and greatest love songs. This morning I played a selection of them for Isaac and turns out he loves the song "I Won't Say I'm In Love" as performed by Meg in Hercules. Here are some pictures after I turned it off, you can see his discontent. Needless to say this worries me a bit, he already shows a preference to girls. I think he has big plans to be a heartbreaker.
